Course Description:
Art One is a 1/2 semester exploratory art class. It will introduce students to the basic Elements and Principles of Art. Students will learn how to look at art, how to create better artistic compositions, and how to use various art materials. This will start students on the path of creativity and a greater appreciate for Art.

Course Description:
Art Two is a two-part program that focuses on students learning to work with two-dimensional and three-dimensional media. The 2D focus covers all areas of drawing. Students will explore topics such as contour line, drawing from the still life, two-point perspective drawing, shading techniques to show light, value, contrast, and texture, how to draw the human figure and portrait drawing. Students learn to handle a variety of drawing media such as graphite pencil, charcoal, color pencil and pen and ink. The 3D focus is on ceramics and traditional hand building techniques. Students will learn pinch, slab and coil methods of construction. 

Advanced Art

Course Description:
Advanced Art is a special program geared towards the serious artist. Advanced art focuses on color theory and painting using media such as watercolor, acrylics, and tempera. Students learn to paint classical self-portraits, landscapes and still life. Students also get to work in specialized medias such as printmaking, batik, carving and metal tooling offers the advanced student a place to try new things and explore their creativity.
