Early Childhood Programs at Fruitport Community Schools offer families of young children many opportunities for care, growth, and learning.  Our programs ensure a safe and secure environment that promote each child’s individual development.

We are proud to offer child care for children ages six weeks to five years old,  before/after school care for elementary children, and Summer Fun Camp for children who have attended elementary school .  In addition, three and four-year-olds have the opportunity to attend Child’s World Tuition Preschool, Head Start, or Great Start Readiness preschool programs.

Child's World Preschool

What is it:
Tuition Based Preschool Program

Qualifications:
Any child aged 3 or 4 by September 1, 2016

Cost:
3 day classes - $223 per quarter                     
2 day classes - $182 per quarter
$25 Registration Fee

Location:
Edgewood Elementary-Room #40

Session Times:
4 Year Olds       M, W, F       9:00-11:30 & 12:30-3:00
3 Year Olds       T, Th           9:00-11:30         

Transportation:
Transportation is not provided.

Early Childhood Center Child Care

What is it:
Childcare for young children offering well planned environments that support children's health and safety while fostering learning through play. The staff are caring and nurturing people who's goal is your child's well-being and happiness. 

Qualifications:
Ages 6 weeks through 5 years old
Preschool aged (3 1/2 - 5) must be potty trained.

Location:
Early Childhood Center inside Fruitport Middle School.

Session Times:
Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm. Care is also available on snow days, school breaks, and during the summer.

Transportation:
Transportation is not provided.

Great Start Readiness Program

What is it:
Great Start Readiness is a free preschool program sponsored with funds from the Michigan Department of Education.

Qualifications:
Must be able to meet state qualifying factors.
Must be age 4 by September 1 of the current school year.

Must reside in Fruitport Community Schools or Mona Shores Public School Districts.

Cost:
Free

Location:
The ECC & Edgewood Elementary in the FCS District.
Ross Park Elementary in the MS District.

Session Times:
Half day classes are in session Monday through Thursday each week.

Transportation:
Transportation is not provided.

Head Start

What is It:
Head Start is a free preschool program sponsored by funds from the Federal Department of Health & Human Services. The goal of Head Start is to increase school readiness of young children in low income families.

Qualifications:
Students must reside in the Fruitport Community Schools or Mona Shores Public School Districts and be age 3 or 4 by September 1 of the current school year. 
Families must also meet income eligibility requirements.

Cost:
Free

Location:
Edgewood Elementary in the FCS District.
Ross Park Elementary in the MS District.

Session Times:
Morning or afternoon classes Monday through Thursday each week.

Meals:
Nutritious meals are provided.

Transportation:
Transportation is provided.

School Aged Care (SAC)

What is it:
Before and after-school childcare

Qualifications:
Any elementary child enrolled in Kindergarten through 5th grade

Location:
Shettler Elementary & Edgewood Elementary

Session Times:
School days, including Delayed Start Wednesday
AM: 6:30-8:30, PM: 3:30-6:00

Transportation:
A shuttle bus is available for Beach students to go to Shettler Elementary for the after school SAC program.

Summer Fun Camp

What is it:
Summer childcare program offering two weekly field trips, use of the middle school pool and computer lab, weekly themes, fun learning activities, and arts & crafts. All supervised by an experienced and caring staff.  We help bridge the summer recess learning gap.

Qualifications:
Elementary children currently attending kindergarten through 5th Grade.
