Fruitport Education Foundation
In October of 2005 a group of dedicated Fruitport residents united for a common purpose: to provide financial assistance to students and enhance the quality of education in the Fruitport Community Schools district. With this goal in mind, the Fruitport Education Foundation (FEF) was created.
Like any other foundation, the money raised will support the specific mission of the FEF: to create and sustain an endowment to support and assist the development and implementation of educational programs and scholarships for Fruitport Community Schools students.
Funding is received through donations from Fruitport Alumni, parents, district residents, businesses, and friends. These funds are used to support innovative school enrichment programs that inspire creativity, learning, and improved performance - educational programs and activities that might not otherwise be funded or have been under-funded by the normal operating budget. We provide staff the opportunity to pursue their educational ideas that support the district's already rigorous curriculum.
The FEF also provides scholarship funding for our senior students on a yearly basis. Over our history, The FEF has awarded 29 students with $23,000.00 in scholarships helping our students further their education beyond high school. The FEF has also awarded 49 mini grants to teachers for a total of $9,000.00.
The Fruitport Education Foundation receives and administers funds through a volunteer Board of Directors made up of business, community, and educational leaders that have a vested interest in the success of all Fruitport students.
