I began to drive school bus in 2009.  I have 3 boys that go to Fruitport and when my youngest started kindergarten I was excited to find a job that allowed me to be on the same schedule as them.  

Each and everyday is a special day with new adventures, new beginnings, learning experiences, and a change to grow and feel fulfilled.  I always enjoy seeing some of the very first students from way back and they remember me.   What could be more special than that?

My job involves many things since I have started driving:  I am a school bus driver trainer, I participate in school bus rodeo, Kindergarten roundup, March ride-n-read, I attended Eaton Proving Grounds, am a member of the transportation safety committee, and much more.

I started driving school bus in December of 1996.   I wanted something different (WOW is it different!) to do in life than what I was doing.  I come from a family of 10 and love children so I found the perfect thing to do.

I began to drive bus in 2001.  I have had my commercial drivers license for 25 years.   

The thing I enjoy the most about my job is the relationships that you build with kids.

One of my favorite stories is about this boy that was in a fight on my bus and I know it was not him that started it.  I called his mom and told her what I thought.  At the end of the year, he asked me for a selfie - I did and he said to me “I wanted a picture of the one person who believed in me.”   I cried.

I began to drive bus in September of 2009.   I decided to become a driver because several of the other drivers that had driven for my son always seem to be having so much fun. I enjoy being with kids and the fun and challenges of the job.  

I began to drive school bus in August of 2014.   I was looking for a second job to fit with my job as a window cleaner.   

I began to drive bus in September of 2014.    As an elementary student I always enjoyed riding the bus and looked up to my bus driver.   This job allows me to be home during the summer months with my three daughters and I enjoy driving.   

I began to drive school bus in July of 2012.   My mother was a bus driver at Fruitport for many years.  I saw firsthand the positive impact she made on her students lives.   

I started driving school bus in October of 1997.  I wanted a job that gave me the same schedule as my daughter.  

I began to drive school bus in June of 2007.   I wanted the opportunity to work with “Children” to make a difference. along with additional income, benefits, job security and retirement.
