Safety WeekTransportation Safety Week Oct. 3 - Oct. 7, 2011 Many safety related activities will take place during this week. Here are a few things you should know: Wed. Oct. 5 - Open House at Transportation Facility from 5 to 6pm. Please join us for games, bus rides, cookies, & punch. Safety training for students: A team of transportation staff will travel to each elementary building to teach students about school bus safety. We will cover four main topics: sit on our pockets, use classroom voices, use our t-rex arms, and how to cross safely in front of the bus.

Bus Rules:Our bus rules have been updated for the 2010-2011 school year. The rules are posted on each bus and have been reviewed with the students. The rules are as follows: Riding the bus is a privilege. "Don't lose your riding privilege" 1. Obey the bus driver at all times. 2. Be courteous and respectful to everyone. 3. Help keep the bus clean. 4. Take good care of the bus. Do not damage or write on bus seats. 5. Stay in your seat at all times. 6. Talk in normal tones and use apprpriate language. 7. No possession or use of flammable/explosive devices, weapons or any illegal substances and aerosols. Cell phone usage is not allowed. 8. Eating and drinking will not be allowed. 9. Bugs/animals or dangerous items will not be allowed. (IE: glass containers, sharp objects) 10. Help keep the aisle clear at all times. 11. All rules that are applicable at school also apply to the bus. The privilege of riding the school bus may be denied to any student who does not conduct himself/herself in a safe and orderly fashion. School bus drivers and administration will determine what is safe and orderly. Violation of the rules will result in consequences that may include bus suspension and/or expulsion from the bus.
